on direct deposit and automatic withdrawal.

What information will I need to set up
a direct deposit or automatic withdrawal?
When
signing up for direct deposit or consenting to automatic withdrawal,
you are asked to provide your account number and the financial
institution's routing/ABA number, which is 314977214. It is very
important that these numbers are correct, for any errors cause the
deposit or withdrawal to be rejected.
What account number do I use? Is it
the one I use at the credit union or the number on the bottom of my
checks?
The account number used in all electronic transactions must be ten
digits. To make up the ten digits the account number will begin with
zeroes, followed by your account number (as used at the credit
union), and end with 50. All ten digits must be there in order to
process the transaction. You may verify your account number by
asking any teller at any GEFCU location, using the information on
the Direct Deposit/Automatic Withdrawal card given to you by a
teller, or using the information on the bottom of your checking
account checks.

Do I use the same information for a
checking account and a savings account transaction?
Yes, the account number and routing/ABA number are the same for
savings and checking accounts.
Can I have direct deposits and
automatic withdrawals made to/from my savings and checking accounts?
While direct deposits can be made to either a checking or a savings,
automatic withdrawals can only be made from a checking account.
Who do I contact to set up a direct
deposit or an automatic withdrawal?
If you wish to set up direct deposit for your payroll checks, you
need to contact your employer. Your employer will tell you whether
or not they offer direct deposit and what information they require.
If you wish to set up a direct deposit or an automatic withdrawal
with a company other than your employer, you need to contact that
company. The company will tell you what they require to get this set
up. GEFCU does have direct deposit forms for the United
States Postal Service and the Federal Government.
How would a company go about setting
up direct deposit for their employees if they do not already do so?
